Endorsed Courses

This course has been designed to support and guide clinical management of central venous access devices (CVADs) based on the best, currently available evidence. It is one of the core courses in the eviQ Education learning pathway.

This course describes the different types of CVADs, insertion, maintenance, complications and removal.
The course consists of online learning and assessment followed by a period of supervised clinical practice. Competency assessments are used to assess clinical skill. All components of the course must be completed before a certificate is awarded.
The resources support the translation of current evidence into practice to reduce the risk of vascular access complications and premature failure and improve patient outcomes.
The course references CNSA Vascular Access Devices: Evidence-Based Clinical Practice Guidelines, 2021 which provide standardised, evidence-based clinical practice guidelines and recommendations for the safe, effective, and efficient management of vascular access devices for the patient with cancer.
