Membership

By applying for or renewing membership with the Australian Vascular Access Society (AVAS), you agree to comply with and be bound by the following Terms and Conditions. These Terms and Conditions govern your membership and your use of AVAS services, and they should be read in conjunction with AVAS’s Privacy Policy and any other relevant policies. If you do not agree with these Terms and Conditions, you should not apply for or continue your membership.

1. Membership Eligibility

Membership is open to individuals with a professional interest in vascular access, including healthcare professionals, clinicians, researchers, and others who support the mission of the AVAS. Membership categories may include, but are not limited to, full members, associate members, student members, and corporate members. Specific eligibility criteria may apply to each category, and you are required to meet those criteria to qualify for membership.

2. Application for Membership

To become a member, applicants must complete the official AVAS membership application form, providing all required information accurately and truthfully. AVAS reserves the right to accept or reject membership applications at its discretion. All membership fees must be paid in full before membership is activated.

3. Membership Types

AVAS offers various membership categories, each with different rights and privileges. These may include:

  • Full Membership: For individuals who meet the criteria for full membership, including access to all AVAS services and benefits.
  • Associate Membership: For individuals with a supporting interest in vascular access.
  • Student Membership: For enrolled students in tertiary education

Membership rights and privileges are determined by the category of membership, and AVAS reserves the right to modify or update membership categories as needed.

4. Membership Fees

Membership fees are set annually and are subject to change. By becoming a member, you agree to pay the membership fee associated with your chosen category. The fees are non-refundable unless otherwise stated in these Terms and Conditions. AVAS will provide an invoice for the annual membership fee, and payment must be made in full before the membership can be activated.

5. Recurring Payments

Unless you opt out, your membership will automatically renew on an annual basis, and the applicable membership fee will be charged to the payment method you have provided. The recurring payment will be processed yearly on the 1st of July each year. By agreeing to these Terms and Conditions, you authorise AVAS to process your recurring payment for membership fees.

If you do not wish for your membership to auto-renew, you must opt out by providing notice to AVAS in writing or via your account management portal before the renewal date. Failure to opt out will result in the automatic renewal of your membership and the associated charges.

6. Membership Term

The membership term is typically for one year, starting from the date of activation, unless otherwise stated. Membership renewal is required annually to maintain continuous membership. AVAS will notify members prior to the expiration of their membership term, and it is the responsibility of the member to ensure timely renewal.
